ABOUT MINIMATICS
History
Minimatics, Inc., founded in 1961, provides precision machining services to the high-tech community in Silicon Valley and other locations around the globe. By the early 1980s, Minimatics had grown from a modest small precision machine shop to a leading small part manufacturer of hard disk drive components, shipping over a million hard drive parts each week. Today we produce precision machined parts for the medical, aerospace, telecom, and other industries, and our expertise in precision machining ranges from exotic "controlled expansion alloys" like Kovar and Nickel Alloys to other specialty metals (Beryllium Copper, Cu-Ni, Monel, vacumelt core iron, etc.) and space age plastics (Vespel®, Polysulfone, Meldon, Peek, Etc.).
Our production facility features state-of-the-art precision CNC milling and turning equipment as well as dedicated honing, lapping, and deburring departments that allow us to machine tight tolerances and complex geometries that are 1/30 of a human hair (.00005). We consistently exceed our customer's standards. We became ISO certified in 2005, and our manufacturing system now conforms to ISO 9001:2015 standards. Each year we are re-certified by outside auditors. In addition to our ISO 9001:2015 certification, which is available for viewing at the bottom of the page, Minimatics is also an ITAR registered precision machine shop under the ITAR program administered by the U.S. State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) governs the import and export of items and services on the United States Munitions List.

From prototype to production, our staff also provides comprehensive and responsive engineering support to alleviate customer concerns and guarantee the quickest possible delivery.
Our daily execution of lean manufacturing systems maximizes our productivity and customer satisfaction. The 5-S lean manufacturing program streamlines and standardizes our daily business routines across both our production floor and office. We also have applied Toyota's concept of "the seven wastes" to maximize our efficiency and effectiveness.
